Christmas is quickly approaching and I don't feel ready! (And surely, I'm not the only one!) This year I tried a few new creative endeavors one of which included working with gourds. Below is a "birdhouse" gourd that we grew from seedlings my mother started. The gourd has been washed , sanded, waxed and decorated. I thought it turned out quite nice. It is to be a gift for my massage therapist, Daniel. I've been seeing Daniel for over twelve years. His totem is the bear - hence the bear fetish on the gourd.

Another "artsy fartsy" - only this is a shot that Allen sent to me and then I photoshopped it. He took this pic of me (those are my hands), holding a Walking Stick (Order Phasmida). I think they're awfully cute!!

Steve brought me these pretty little flowers. They are so delicate and have held up all week. I put them in a little mouthwash bottle and set them on the nightstand with a yucca pod and a few stones I'd collected. Makes the hotel room feel a tad bit more homey.

Yes, I've missed a few days. Been busy with work and unfortunately spending a lot of time sitting in front of a computer, which makes it not real appealing to come back to the hotel room and sit in front of the computer some more. BUT, I did take this photograph of the top of a wicker picnic basket, which I thought was rather interesting. So, there!

Okay, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new camera. Should be here in the next few days. I realized that I needed better resolution for stills if I am going to get any good shots on vacation and at the Clan Bake on August 11th. I can't Wait!

This is an artichoke out of our vegetable garden. They are delicious to eat and beautiful to look at. Since I'm back at home with my own computer, I thought I'd fart around a little bit with Adobe PhotoShop. Voila!

Okay, I'm cheating a little bit. These are pictures I took yesterday, but I've been playing around some more with my Adobe PhotoShop software and these are representative of what I've been up to. The first picture is of the clapper on a wind chime which is hanging on my front porch.

This second photo is of a flower called Indian Blanket, which is growing next to my front porch. It has such wonderful colors!

Just thought I'd take a picture of something besides my kitchen. Artsy-Farted around with the filters in Adobe Photoshop to get this look.

I scored this totally cute teacup at the Goodwill a couple of days ago. Today, while walking back from the salon, I found some lovely acorns on the ground. I wanted to photograph both of these so, voila! I thought the dainty cup with the acorns amid the stones was rather nifty.
