A few years back, my friend, Mary, and I "transplanted" some hollyhocks from the University garden to my backyard. Amazingly, they grew (really, really tall), bloomed, and launched seeds all over the yard. These lovely pink and white flowers are the first bloom of this season. Ironically, no hollyhocks are growing where I planted them originally.
