Today we ran a four-hour pump test. Essentially, we're pumping the well in the rear of the photo for four hours and then we let it recover for two. While we're doing this we're measuring the water level at pre-determined intervals. The object is to help determine the characteristics of the aquifer by measuring how the water level behaves while pumping and recovering. Samples are collected and analyzed using field parameters (pH, temperature, and conductivity). In addition, a suite of samples are collected and sent to a laboratory for more extensive analysis. Today, it is good to be me.
